Credentials

NVIDIA certified in generative AI with LLMs, at Professional and Associate level.

Most automations stop at an API call. Some need a private model, a fine-tune or a deployment on hardware you own. The certification is the external evidence that the engineering depth is there when the workflow needs it.

01 / Exam blueprint

What the Professional exam actually covers.

The published topic weights are the best public description of the depth. Optimization and GPU acceleration together are almost a third of the exam.

Prompt engineering13%Chain-of-thought, zero/one/few-shot, constrained decoding, prompt templates.
Data preparation9%Cleaning, tokenization (BPE, WordPiece), dataset organization, vocabulary management.

02 / The boundary

Certification is not the same as production experience.

This distinction is deliberate, and it is the reason the certification is useful rather than decorative.

Hands-on, with evidence

  • On-premise agent deployment. Deployed NVIDIA AIQ on NVIDIA DGX Spark hardware and adapted it with tools and agent capabilities. See the case study →
  • Fine-tuning on a small backbone. Fully fine-tuned Qwen3-0.6B for multi-horizon forecasting, including a custom trajectory-aware loss and a controlled benchmark against six baselines. See the case study →
  • Quantization and mixed precision in practice. Used FP16, INT8 and LoRA/PEFT techniques in PyTorch fine-tuning workflows. Quantization choices were made against eval results, not vendor defaults. See the case study →
  • Regulated enterprise delivery. Built the AI and application layer of a HIPAA-compliant assistant on Azure, working inside a controlled enterprise environment. See the case study →

Certification knowledge, not a production claim

  • TensorRT optimisation and deployment
  • DDP and FSDP distributed training
  • CUDA profiling
  • NVIDIA NIM and Dynamo-Triton serving
  • Structured pruning and sparsity
  • Knowledge distillation
  • Bias auditing and responsible AI controls

Certification topics were studied and examined. They are not claimed as production experience. Every hands-on claim on this site links to the project that supports it.

03 / Why it matters

What the certification changes in an automation.

It is not a badge for the footer. It is a map of the cost, latency and memory trade-offs when the AI step is too expensive, too slow or too sensitive to run through a public API.

Optimization

You know where the cost lives

Quantization, pruning, distillation and KV-cache management are the levers behind most inference bills. When an automation runs at volume, that is the difference between a workflow and a budget problem.

Fine-tuning

You know which method fits

LoRA, QLoRA, SFT, DPO and full fine-tuning solve different problems. When a repeated classification or extraction is too costly per call, that is where the decision starts.

Deployment

You know what has to be measured

Batching, GPU memory, latency and throughput are part of the design. So is the evaluation that tells you whether quantization or a model swap hurt the quality of the decision the automation depends on.

04 / Questions

The credential questions clients ask.

Including the one about what certification does not prove.

Are you NVIDIA certified?

Yes. I hold the NVIDIA Certified Professional: Gen AI LLMs, valid from February 2026 to February 2028, and the NVIDIA Certified Associate: Gen AI LLMs, valid from November 2025 to November 2027.

What does the Professional certification cover?

The exam blueprint covers model optimization (17 percent), GPU acceleration and optimization (14 percent), prompt engineering (13 percent), fine-tuning (13 percent), data preparation (9 percent), deployment (9 percent), evaluation (7 percent), production monitoring (7 percent), architecture (6 percent) and safety (5 percent).

Does certification mean you have production experience with every topic?

No. Certification means the topics were studied and examined. Hands-on claims are listed separately and link to the project that supports them. TensorRT, CUDA profiling and large-scale distributed training are certification knowledge, not claimed production experience.

Can I verify the credential?

Yes. NVIDIA issues a verifiable credential for each certification. The credential ID and verification link are available on request, and I can include them in a proposal or vendor form.

Next step

Need the AI step to run privately?

If the constraint is data residency, latency or a security boundary, the certification topics are the map. The first step is a short call and a sizing conversation.
